Fundraising update:
For one of our fundraisers we gave out Smarties tubes to fund raise for The Friends of Allison Cargill House. Due to the Coronavirus the house has not been able to open to visitors and it will be some time before it can reopen this will mean a large loss in their income for the upkeep. If you have filled your tube or would like to make a donation please contact foach.secretary@yahoo.com in the first instance and your request will be passed on to the appropriate committee member to either arrange collection of tubes or to make a donation.

Friends of ACH
"Friends of Allison Cargill House" is the name given to a group of people who wish to have or retain links with and generally support the work of Allison Cargill House.
Their aim and purpose is to provide opportunities for those who have been associated with Guiding or for those who have had no links previously but who would now like to give support, to meet in friendship, to be kept aware of developments at Allison Cargill House, to give financial help and generally assist Girlguiding East Lothian in promoting Allison Cargill House as its training and activities centre. The group is entirely self-financing.
The friends meet up to four times each year. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to be associated with the aims of Allison Cargill House and has paid either the current annual subscription or the ten year membership.

Meetings
The AGM due to taka place in Octoberis postponed until further notice.
This is because of the present situation with COVID 19. Even though things are very gradually returning to normal, the future is still unpredictable.
The winning quiz entry (from Fife) was selected in a blind draw and the £10.00 prize was awarded by post.
The smart tube challenge has been well supported against all the odds. We will continue to accept any further donations as smart tubes are filled.
We have also received some very generous donations this year.
Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously.

Friends of ACH - FAQ
The Friends were set up in 1991 to support Allison Cargill House and to promote its use by Guide Groups. We meet 3 – 4 times a year and, since the Friends started up we have given about £20,000 to Allison Cargill House.
We have done a mixture of things; lunches, afternoon teas, quizzes and recently filling Smartie tubes with coins. The subscriptions also go to the funds and we have been lucky to receive generous donations. Also, Allison Cargill House has received generous legacies direct from Friends who are no longer with us.
We and the two Trefoil Guilds take turns to organise the annual outing in June. In 2016 we organised a trip on the Union Canal followed by lunch at the Ratho Inn. In 2019 we organised a trip to Dirleton Castle followed by lunch at the Open Arms. We help with Guiding events in the County – if requested and have been invited to County celebrations of Guiding Anniversaries
Membership is open to anyone who wants to support Allison Cargill House. You don’t have to be a member of the Girlguiding Association. To join just click on the link download, then fill in post us your Application Form
